Also known as umbrella bamboo which describes the graceful crown that weeps down. This clump-forming bamboo holds together long arching bright green canes, which when matured turn a yellow green. The bright pea-green leaves are long and thin which come to a point, they are singularly arranged over the delicate steam. For planting this bamboo is commonly used as hedging screening, patio containers or by a pond or stream. For the best specimen prefers partial shade and tolerant of full sun, moisture retentive soil, but still well-draining.
