Description

‘Trewithen Blue’ is one of the larger varieties of evergreen Ceanothus spreading up to 6m in height, with broadly oval or rounded leaves to 8cm in length, and slightly fragrant deep blue flowers in panicles to 12cm in length which emerge in April and can last right through to early summer.
Ideal for screening Ceanothus is also a welcome addition to any wildlife garden.
A really good, all round garden plant that can be planted in almost any location, suiting flower beds and borders, wall side borders, fences, banks or slopes. Ceanothus in varities also works well when grown in a container.
Generally, pest free and minimal pruning makes Ceanothus a good plant for low maintenance gardens.
Grows well in a sunny sheltered position. After flowering, prune the shoots by one third and remove any dead or damaged branches. Feed and mulch to provide the nutrients needed.
Likes moist well drained soil, does not do well on chalk.
Final Height: 4-8m tall and 4-8m wide.
