Description

Clemaris macropetala ’Propertius’ is a uniquely deciduous climber with mid green leaves and pretty, semi-double, nodding bell-shaped scented flowers borne in late spring and consistently into summer too. Fragrant flowers are mauve-pink with outer tepals edged in white and inner paler layers.
A very delicate addition to any cottage garden scheme this clematis is a great pollinator. Like other Clematis it will need support on an obelisk or fence or trellis.
This Clematis is in pruning group 1, which flower early in the year and should be pruned after flowering in mid to late spring.
Prefers a sheltered position in full sun but will also grow in partial shade.
Tolerates any soil condition as long as it’s moist and well drained.
Final height: 2.5-4m tall, 1-1.5m wide.
