To make a colourful impact on your garden this acer is a more unique choice, due to its uncommon leaf colouring of a strong green above and a deep dark purple on the underside and then during autumn they turn a striking orange red. Around April, the flowers bloom and followed by a spattering of pink and green winged nutlets. This hardy tree prefers a sunny position and thrives on any reasonably well-drained soil types, tolerates to air pollution and is highly wind resistant.
NOTE: Sycamore is poisonous to horses and therefore they should not be planted in or around paddocks.
