A very unusal dwarf tree fern from Brazil. An attractive evergreen fern with slightly crinkled upright or arched fronds. The new fronds emerge as an intense red colour before maturing to bronze and then a glossy green. Over time, the upright middle will create a thin trunk with the fronds sprouting into a distinctive shuttlecock shape. Well sort after for its architectural appearance it prefers a more sheltered spot in the garden, with rich loam soil moist to well-drained and full to partial shade. Hardy to about -5°C in ideal conditions.
