Luma apiculata
Known as Chilean myrtle, it is a slow growing, evergreen shrub prized for its ornamental beauty. It features smooth, cinnamon-coloured bark that peels to reveal creamy patches, creating year-round interest. Its small, glossy, dark-green leaves are aromatic when crushed, and in summer, it produces clusters of white, star-shaped flowers that attract pollinators. These are followed by dark purple, edible berries. Its elegant form and multi-season appeal make it a standout choice for specimen planting or mixed borders.
Grow in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
