Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Donna May’

‘Donna May’, also known as Little Devil®, is a compact deciduous shrub prized for its deep purple foliage and tidy, upright habit. Finely textured leaves emerge bronze-green in spring turning red purple before maturing to a rich red in autumn. In late spring, clusters of small pink-white flowers provide a soft contrast against the dark foliage, followed by decorative seed capsules. Growing to 1.5m tall, ‘Donna May’ is ideal for smaller gardens, borders, and low hedging. Prefers moist but well-drained neutral to acidic soils in full sun or partial shade.
