Commonly known as Portuguese Laurel this evergreen shrub can be planted either as a shrub or tree. Ideal for evergreen screening this hardy plant can be identified by its dark shiny leaves and red stems. In spring it produces spurts of little white flowers, followed by dark purple berries in Summer which birds and wildlife love. Due to its low maintenance, hardy nature and versatility it is a very popular plant here at the nursery, supplied as a tree or shrub. Tolerant of all soil types it prefers moist and well-draining, partial shade to full sun.
Good for birds and pollinators.
