the Big Plant Nursery sales Advisor
Full-time
The Big Plant Nursery is an independent retail plant nursery set up by the award-winning Creative Landscape Company based in Twyford, Berkshire. We specialise in specimen tree and shrubs along with mature plants and pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service and top-quality plants. We now have an opportunity for an experienced nursery sales advisor to join our team.
If you are passionate about plants and feel you have the relevant skills, we would love to hear from you. Retail experience would be an advantage, but not essential, ideal candidates would have good plant knowledge, experience caring for plants and exceptional customer service skills.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Interacting with and advising customers to ensure they feel looked after and well informed when making a purchase
- Providing customers with knowledge based solutions to their gardening challenges
- Working closely with the rest of the team to ensure excellent standards are maintained throughout
- Processing sales through the till. Till experience useful but not essential as full training will be provided
- Working with other team members to unload, process and merchandise new stock arrivals
- Prepare and assist with deliveries out to customer (when required)
Hours
- Full time contract – 38-40 hours/week, to include alternate weekends

Main duties would include, offering plant advice and assisting customers. till experience helpful but full training will be provided. Plant husbandry, restocking and creating effective plant displays/merchandising.
Weekends only (part-time)

Landscape Foreman
We are looking for an experienced landscape foreman. Applicants need to be reliable, hardworking, able to lead others, complete all works to the high standards expected and meet targets set.
Projects range across all areas of soft and hard landscaping, mainly working for domestic clients throughout the Thames Valley area.
All applicants would need to be skilled in the following:
- Paving (all styles of paving slabs)
- Fencing
- Brick / block work
- Timber decking
- Composite decking
- Turfing
- Planting
Other skills required / responsibilities
- Able to lead a team of between 3 to 7
- Able to read and set out to scale drawings
- Work to specifications
- Oversee quality of other works
- Liaise directly with clients as required
- Confident use of power tools
- Full driving license
Benefits
Full time: 7.30-4.30pm
Salary dependent on experience.

Skilled Hard Landscaper
We are looking for enthusiastic skilled hard landscapers with previous experience to join our team. Applicants need to be reliable, hardworking, able to work in a team and complete all works to the high standards expected and meet targets set.

- Able to work in a team of between 3 to 7
- Confident use of power tools
- Full driving license

- Salary of £22,500 – £27,500pa upwards depending on experience
