Commonly known as Juneberry, Amelanchier lamarckii is a small tree that seems to carry all four seasons in its branches. In early spring, it opens with a soft haze of white blossom, as if the tree has been dusted with light. These delicate flowers drift into early summer, where they give way to small, dusky purple‑black berries; a gentle offering for our native birds. Its leaves emerge with a warm bronze blush, catching the low spring sun before settling into fresh green. By autumn, they flare into vivid oranges and reds, turning the tree into a quiet fire at the edge of the garden.
