We believe the beauty of plants; their shapes, their foliage, their natural colours, can absolutely be classed as a form of art .

Art is defined as “the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power”.

As garden designers we have an artistic eye and the practical skills to professionally transform a garden. We can help you create inspirational outside spaces, or simply address key requirements in your garden. Through our garden design process using experience gathered over 30 years, we work with you to provide detailed and innovative plans to connect the house with the outside space.

Alternatively, we can help create planting schemes which rejuvenate existing borders, or work from scratch to create new concepts & design ideas to your garden.

How does your garden make you feel? Is it beautiful? What emotions does it evoke?

Plants are some of the most intricate and multi-sensory forms of art that stimulate our senses through sight, touch and scent helping us relate to the landscape and the seasons. Apparently effortless but complex to achieve, the right planting gives an emotional resonance that humans find compelling.

When designing planting schemes, one must consider that plants grow and therefore be conscious of the changes that will occur.

In gardening there is texture, contrast, light, shade, layers, harmony, complement, contrast to name but a few elements of artistry.

Garden care is natures art, that we have the chance to nurture.

“The art of gardening is never complete.”
