Also known as the Japanese privet, this semi-evergreen tree has long and pointed dark green glossy leaves which only drop in the harshest of English winters. An abundance of petite off-white flowers erupt during the autumnal months, which is popular with pollinators, followed by groups of round black berries. Ideal for hedging it can also be supplied as a tree for screening. Regular trimming is recommended to maintain shape and prevent the tree becoming too woody.
Prefers a sheltered full sun position on well drained soils. Can tolerate all soil conditions.
