Description
Known more commonly as Yew this is one of the most popular evergreen native plants in the UK due to its low maintenance properties. It is slow growing which makes it ideal for hedging and topiary. On the female plant, insignificant flowers produce red fleshy fruit, popular with wildlife but toxic to humans and dogs.
Taxus will grow in any well-drained soil and is a good plant choice for shady areas. It is a great alternative to Buxus if you have suffered with blight or caterpillar.

Mature Height: 12+ metres when unclipped.
