Description
‘Early Sensation’ is a pretty, delicate, evergreen variety of clematis, and thus makes it a good option for screening. With unusual finely-divided leaves that emerge bronze and mature to a dark green, this cultivar bears a profusion of small, scented, white, bell-like flowers in spring that are up to 7.5cm in diameter, each with a greenish-yellow centre. A delightful addition to any garden for year-round interest.
All clematis need a form of support, either wires on a fence or pergola or trellis to retain their shape.
This Clematis is in pruning group 1, which flower early in the year and should be pruned after flowering in mid to late spring.
Prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade.
Will grow in any soil condition as long as it’s well drained.
Final height: 2.5-4m tall, 1-1.5m wide.
