Description
Chinese wisteria ‘Prolific’ is a vigorous, deciduous climber with stems twining anticlockwise, pinnate leaves of 9-13 elliptic or ovate leaflets, and an abundance of fragrant, soft blue-violet flowers in hanging racemes 25-30cm long, late spring and early summer. Followed by bean-like seed pods this variety often flowers from a young age.
This is a great climber for bees that will feast on the large long flowers in warm weather.
Grow in any moist well drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
