Description

Prunus ‘Spire’ is the result of a cross between Prunus sargentii and Prunus x yedonensis first grown in the 1920s. Like a large bouquet of flowers for your garden this tree stands in an upright vase shape, and in springtime is adorned with a flush of pink flowers. Come the autumn, the leaves change from their display of vibrant bronze to a flame of oranges and reds.

For best specimen a preference of well-drained soil and full sun to achieve the best floral show. Will tolerate most soil types including chalk and clay. Being tolerant of pollution this tree will do well in urban areas and there for would be an excellent addition to a front facing garden.

This tree is good for bees and other pollinators.
