Description
Renowned for its exquisite taste, this variety is exceptionally juicy and buttery with a sweet and aromatic flavour. White flowers appear in the spring followed by fruits that are pale green, sometimes yellow and blushed with red. Harvest early October and store until November. Grown on ‘Quince A’ rootstock, Height 3-4m.
‘Doyenne du Comice’ needs to cross pollinate with another pear tree from pollination groups 3 or 4. ‘Onward’ is not a compatible cross-pollinating partner for ‘Doyenne du Comice’.
Grow in well drained or moist but well drained soil in a sheltered position. Full sun.
