A spectacular, variegated cultivar of the well-known Norway Maple. Small yellow flowers appear in spring but are often not noticed hiding amongst the bright creamy coloured foliage.
The contrast in the variegation of the foliage is at its best and most vivid in the spring. As the season goes on, the sun can wash the leaves out a little, but this doesn’t degrade the quality of the tree.
Acer platanoides ‘Drummondii’ is a versatile tree that does well on most soil types and is drought resistant once established. A medium to large tree with a rounded form. An excellent addition to add colour and brightness to a planting scheme and should be given space to reach its full potential.
It is worth noting, if any green shoots emerge from the tree, it is important to remove them. This reversion can grow more strongly and overtake the tree over time if not removed.
Mature height: 12-17m.
